United Kitchen Exhaust provides a number of different services in order to enhance the operation of a kitchen exhaust. United’s emphasis on quality with the provision of end to end user interaction give our clients the ability to rest assured that their investment is safe from fire hazards and functioning at 100% efficiency.

i. United Survey

Part of the United promise to clients is to provide them with a better understanding of their exhaust system and the problems and solutions that accompany it. Below is a brief outline of what the United survey encompasses and why we are the best when it comes to customer satisfaction:

united Experienced and senior technician specialists inspect every foot of accessible duct, hood, and fan.
united Pictures of interior and exterior of entire system.
united Various scrape tests and pictures of fire hazards, liquid and grease build-ups.
united Comprehensive clean-up of kitchen after survey – floors, tiles, ceiling, etc.
united Detailed 3D drawing of kitchen exhaust with reference points to pictures and fire hazards.

In most cases, United will provide a survey free of charge to the majority of clients with the understanding that the information provided is confidential and to remain within United’s possession until a contract for United Restoration is signed.

ii. United Kitchen Restoration

United prides itself on being the best and offering the most comprehensive full system restoration to date.  Full system restoration encompasses:

united Complete cleaning of hood and fan using both pressure washer and hand scraping techniques.
united Complete degreasing of exhaust system back to bear metal using a combination of various hand scraping tools and techniques:

Metal and magnetic hand scrapers.

Steel wool scrub pads and high quality chemical degreaser.
united Re-gasket all access doors to eliminate future leakage from access points.
united Installation of access doors where required to ensure access to entire exhaust system.
united Lubricate and restore all working components of exhaust system.
united Replace rusted old hardware and missing parts.
united Rebalancing of fan.
united Replacement of fan belts and critical parts.
united Clean ansul (fire sprinkler) system.
united Restoration of water wash nozzles for self cleaning hoods.

united Comprehensive clean-up of kitchen upon job completion – floors, tiles, ceiling, etc.
united Certification of compliance with NFPA code.

iii. United Maintenance & Cleaning

Part of the United promise to clients is to give them the resources and service necessary to keep their exhaust systems operating at full capacity and within NFPA codes. United will provide clients with maintenance schedules that encompass:

united Inspections of entire exhaust systems.
united Cleanings of hoods and fans.
united Replacement of parts and accessories.
united Certification of compliance with NFPA code.

The most common cleaning maintenance schedule of kitchen exhausts is every 3 months but schedules can vary depending upon the type of operation. The kitchen exhaust systems that need cleaning most often are those over wood-burning or charcoal-burning stoves. These should be cleaned every month at least, and in some cases as often as every 2 weeks. Below are the various types of cooking establishments and their recommended cleaning frequencies:

united Wood-burning or charcoal-burning stoves, char broilers, 24-hour restaurants, some hamburger places: 30 DAYS.
united Many hamburger restaurants and fast-food locations: 60 DAYS.
united Average restaurant, employee cafeteria, hotel or hospital kitchen: 90 DAYS.
united Pizza places, convalescent hospital, small snack bar, oven hood: 180 DAYS.
united Hoods over non-grease-creating appliances, such as steam kettles, dishwashers, soup vats, etc.: ONE YEAR.
